2018 HUB CITY REGIONAL LOAD IN
Robot and Equipment Load-In
Wednesday, March 7, 2018 – 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. and Thursday, March 8, 2018 – 7:45 to 8:30 a.m.
Load-in will have Robot Inspectors and Safety Advisors present to monitor safety and to expedite drop-off.
Wednesday, Load-In March 7, 2018
Early load-in on Wednesday is available for teams to drop-off bagged robots and equipment in the designated team pit space. Pit Setup –Teams may set up their pit area. No work can be done on the robot. Once the equipment is unloaded teams MUST move their vehicle to a parking space.
Five team members will be allowed to bring in the robot and equipment. At least one team member must be an adult mentor, 18 years of age or older and not a high school student.
Standard safety rules apply during this time. Teams can make multiple trips to Load In all of their equipment.
Load-in is marked on the Hub City map document. There will also be signage for Load In at the event. Staff will direct you to your pit area and to a robot inspector who will inspect your lock up form. Note – Please remember to bring your robot lock up form with you for load-in.
EARLY PIT SET UP – (See below from 2018 Rules and Expectations)
If you do not have your lock up form with you or there is a problem with the lockup form the robot inspector will give you a RED sticker. Place the RED sticker
on your team sign located in your pit area. This is to alert robot inspectors that your team needs to have a robot inspector visit your pit area the next morning before the team can open the robot bag.
At some of the events, the Load In period allows teams to set up their pit area before the event officially starts. If this is the case, it will be indicated on the event’s agenda.
If pit set up is allowed, the following rule applies (in addition to Team Load In and General Pit Rules):
E32. Teams must have their pits in a safe state by the time pits close (even if some tasks are left undone).
E32-1. Only five team members (one of which must be an adult) may be in the pit area, and this must be for the purposes of pit set up only.
E32-2. Once pit set-up is complete, or the early Pit Set-up time the evening before pits open to all has ended, team members must immediately leave the pit area
If an event has designated Early Pit Setup times both the evening before and the morning before pits open to all, a team may use both periods to set up its pits, but, per E32-2, must leave once pit set up is complete. Teams can be expected to be asked to leave by event personnel if it is noted that their pit set up is complete and they have not yet left the pit area.
Please bring a pit map to see where your team is located. This will help with load in.
Thursday Morning Option – if you cannot do load-in on Wednesday evening then you can unload on Thursday morning from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. Early Thursday load-in will follow the same instructions as Wednesday load-in. You will need to have Safety Glasses with you.
