Corpus Christi, TX – FIRST in Texas is thrilled to announce that Buc Days 2025 will mark the fourth year of FIRST robotics events as part of the iconic annual Buc Days celebration, and this year is shaping up to be bigger than ever! For the first time, the event will include an off-season FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) event, in addition to the popular FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competitions.
The 2025 event will span four days, showcasing the talents of young STEM leaders from across Corpus Christi and beyond, at the American Bank Center from May 1 to May 4, 2025.
Event Schedule:
“We are incredibly excited to expand our presence at Buc Days 2025 by including the off-season FRC event,making this a full celebration of FIRST robotics,” said Jason Arms, Executive Director of FIRST in Texas. “This will not only provide an opportunity for local Corpus Christi teams to shine, but it will also attract teams from across the globe as part of an international invitational.”
The event will prioritize participation for Corpus Christi-based teams, before opening registration to teams from around the world. Registration for Buc Days 2025 will begin in January 2025, so teams should be ready to secure their spot and be part of this exciting competition. There will be a small registration fee to attend this year.
$15,000 in team grants will be awarded to winners across the three competitions for Texas teams, making Buc Days 2025 a can’t-miss event for robotics teams in Texas and beyond!
This expanded event builds on the success of previous Buc Days competitions, which have drawn thousands of students and spectators eager to see firsthand the creativity, innovation, and teamwork of FIRST participants.
