FIRST in Texas Adopts New Senior Volunteer Leadership Roles

09.09.2024

At FIRST in Texas, we are committed to continually improving the experience of our community members, particularly the dedicated volunteers who help make our programs successful. Based on feedback from across the state, we are excited to announce the adoption of senior volunteer leadership roles within our FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST LEGO League programs.

These newly appointed senior volunteers will play a crucial role in providing valuable feedback to our FIRST in Texas Operations Managers while serving as leaders within their respective role across the state. By working directly with our Operations Managers, these role leaders will act as liaisons for volunteers, ensuring that those serving in various capacities across Texas receive the support, training, recognition and resources they need.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Volunteer Leaders:

  • Liaison Support: Serving as a key point of contact for volunteers within their roles, ensuring that questions, concerns, and feedback from the community are addressed effectively and timely.
  • Volunteer Recruitment: Actively recruiting and engaging volunteers for events, helping to build a strong and enthusiastic network across Texas of volunteers within their role responsibility.
  • Collaboration and Representation: Representing their volunteers at the annual FIRST in Texas summit, working closely with other senior volunteer leaders to collaboratively improve the volunteer experience throughout the state.

These senior volunteer leaders will help us further strengthen our programs and expand our impact across Texas. Their leadership and dedication will enhance our ability to engage with our volunteers and ensure that our events and initiatives are as successful as possible.

We are grateful for the feedback from our community that helped shape this new initiative, and we are confident that these new leadership roles will have a positive and lasting impact on our programs.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for your continued commitment to the mission of FIRST in Texas. Together, we are building a brighter future for students across the state.
