FLL Referee and Judge Training

10.20.2014

Would you like to be a referee or judge at an upcoming FLL tournament? If so, you MUST ATTEND referee and judge training. Referees will be trained by our Central Texas FIRST® Head Referee to become familiar with rules, scoring, and competitive play. Judges will be trained by our Central Texas FIRST® Head Judge to become familiar with judging formats, questions to ask, and giving feedback to teams. Refs are the ultimate decision makers when it comes to the tournament rounds. They also keep the tournament going by moving teams through the rounds with ease, smiles, and an understanding that this is tough on the children! Judges are the ultimate decision makers when it comes to deciding which team has presented the best in the competition. For both roles: Consistency is critical. We hope to see you there!

The first part of training will be a presentation on rules, scoring and competitive play. During the second part of the training, teams will come to test their robots on the field and present research projects, giving you an opportunity to practice in real-time.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov 2 | 9:00AM – 12:00PM and 1:00PM – 5:00PM
WHERE: Silicon Labs, 400 W Cesar Chavez, Austin, TX 78701
