Johnson City, Texas – By igniting curiosity and fostering creativity in STEM, we can illuminate young minds, empowering the next generation to innovate and shape a brighter future.
On Saturday, October 26 from 6 – 8 PM, Science Mill will be hosting their Illuminate: Science Mill Annual Benefit. This gala will “shine a light on the best of the Texas Hill Country as we come together to raise funds to support our future scientists.” Despite Johnson City being one of the smallest towns in Texas with an FRC team, their passion and drive is bigger than the challenges they may face.
Donors, supporters, and Central Texas industry representatives will be in attendance to share their vision for equipping our youth with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a STEM-based career. By attending this event, you help create opportunities for youth to pursue careers in STEM, as all proceeds will directly support programs that provide high-quality science education to underserved communities. Science Mill aligns with FIRST in Texas’ mission to ensure accessible STEM opportunities for all young people, regardless of their background. “Partnering with the center is important for creating sustainable spaces where teams can collaborate on their robots. This cooperation ensures access to well-equipped areas that foster creativity and teamwork, helping students grow as leaders while building a strong community,” states Jason Arms, Executive Director of FIRST in Texas.
Science Mill proudly supports Johnson City Joules, Team 9054, and is expanding its impact by building out three FIRST LEGO League teams and a FIRST Tech Challenge team, ensuring that the spirit of FIRST robotics and STEM education thrives in their community.
Join us for an illuminating evening dedicated to empowering the future STEM leaders of the Texas Hill Country! Your support will help shine a light on their potential and pave the way for innovation and excellence.
