Dear FIRST in Texas Community,
At FIRST in Texas, we deeply value and appreciate the incredible time, talent, and dedication our volunteers bring to the FIRST community. Recognizing your impact is a top priority for us, and one of the ways we’ve proudly done this over the years is through the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) Program.
As a certifying organization, we’ve had the honor of presenting numerous PVSA awards to deserving students, mentors, coaches, and community members across Texas. It’s one of the most meaningful ways to celebrate those who go above and beyond to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.
However, we want to share an important update:
AmeriCorps has announced that, effective immediately, the PVSA program is on a temporary pause.
During this time:
We understand that many of you have reached out with questions, and we hope this message provides clarity. Unfortunately, this pause is due to circumstances beyond our control, but we remain committed to recognizing our volunteers in every way we can.
As soon as AmeriCorps resumes operations for the PVSA program, all Certifying Organizations and stakeholders will be notified.
For the official announcement and updates, please visit the PVSA website.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to PVSA@americorps.gov.
Thank you for your continued commitment to service and volunteerism.
