Introducing the FIRST in Texas Ambassador Program

San Antonio, Texas – We are thrilled to announce the launch of the FIRST in Texas Ambassador Program, an innovative initiative designed to champion the priorities of FIRST in Texas within communities across our great state of Texas. This exciting new program aims to engage business / community leaders and elected officials who are passionate about advancing STEM education and who recognize the critical impact of FIRST programs.

Ambassadors: Champions for FIRST programs in Texas

The FIRST in Texas Ambassadors are influential figures, not directly involved in our programs as participants, who will play a pivotal role in securing resources to foster the growth of new teams and ensure the financial sustainability of existing teams, particularly in rural or underserved communities. Their mission is clear – to amplify the reach and impact of FIRST in Texas, helping our teams thrive in every corner of the state.

Key Responsibilities

Our Ambassadors will represent FIRST in Texas at various public speaking engagements and outreach events. They will be instrumental in promoting the adoption of our programs, encouraging community involvement, and increasing volunteer engagement among our network of over 7,000 dedicated individuals. Additionally, Ambassadors will lean in and help work side by side with FIRST in Texas to remove barriers preventing participation, and fostering a supportive environment where young minds can explore and grow in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Appointment and Training

Appointments to the Ambassador program are made by the Executive Director of FIRST in Texas. Each Ambassador will undergo a thorough background screening and receive comprehensive training and resources to prepare them for their role. This preparation ensures that they are well-equipped to be key resources for the FIRST in Texas staff at all levels and can effectively advocate for the expansion and success of our programs.
