San Antonio, Texas – FIRST in Texas is thrilled to announce open positions in our local leadership team, an integral part of our mission to provide unparalleled support to our coaches and participants. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to fill three key roles across Texas: Texas Mentor, League Commissioner, and Communications Specialist. Each of these positions offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of young innovators and the broader educational community.

Available Positions

1. Texas Mentor: As a mentor, you will guide and support teams, offering your expertise and insights to foster their growth in both technical and soft skills. This role is perfect for individuals who have a passion for robotics and education, and who wish to inspire the next generation of leaders in science and technology. This is a great opportunity for FIRST alum or someone with a technical background in programming. This position supports 40% FRC / 40% FTC and 20% FLL.  (Available in: East, North, and West)  Stipend of $700.00 / mo — email: seth.lara@firstintexas.org

2. League Commissioner: The League Commissioner plays a crucial role in delivering the FIRST Tech Challenge program in their community. This position involves coordinating events, ensuring compliance with FIRST standards, and maintaining a fair, competitive, and inspiring environment for teams that sign up to be part of their league. FIRST in Texas provides a modest team grant for those coaches that host a league. Available in: Central, North, South, and West) — email ftc@firstintexas.org

3. Communications Specialist: Our Communications Specialists are the voice of FIRST in Texas in each Area of Texas, tasked with crafting compelling narratives and sharing vital information to our community on social media. This role requires strong writing skills, proficiency in digital communication platforms, and a keen sense of how to engage diverse audiences. This position serves all programs in their geographical area (Available in:  Central, East, North, and West) Stipend of $700.00 / mo — email marketing@firstintexas.org
