Recycling Game Elements: An Opportunity for FIRST in Texas Teams

10.21.2024

San Antonio, Texas – In our ongoing commitment to sustainability and support for our teams, FIRST in Texas is excited to announce the time of the year that we recycle the game elements from our most recent FIRST Robotics Competition season, CRESCENDO. As we transition from one thrilling season to the next, it is important to us to minimize waste and make effective use of all resources. Therefore, we are offering the raw materials from the CRESCENDO game elements to our teams at no cost.

These materials, which might otherwise be destined for local landfills, are perfect for teams looking for quality materials to build and enhance their robots. We believe this initiative will not only help the environment but also provide essential resources to teams in need, especially those from underserved and rural areas.

Material Availability and Access

The materials are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to underserved or rural teams. All materials are provided as is and must be collected in person from our warehouse in San Antonio. This is a great opportunity to save on costs and obtain valuable resources for your team’s robot.

How to Access the Materials

To ensure an organized distribution, teams interested in acquiring these materials should contact Seth Lara at seth.lara@firstintexas.org to schedule a visit. Please reach out at your earliest convenience to take advantage of this offering.

Our goal with this initiative is not only to reduce waste but also to support the ingenuity and resourcefulness of our teams across Texas. We hope to see these materials put to excellent use, aiding in your team’s creative and competitive efforts in the upcoming FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge seasons.
