Texas Mentor

Central - San Antonio
Brad Maulden serves as a Texas Mentor for the Central region of FIRST in Texas. Mr. Maulden began his FIRST journey competing on a FIRST Lego League team for three years. Following his FLL experience, Mr. Maulden competed on a FIRST Tech Challenge team for two years and using his experience, co-founded an FTC team which he led for the following four years. During his time as a competitor, Mr. Maulden also served as a mentor for several FLL and FTC teams and volunteered across both programs in many different positions.
Inspired by his experience with FIRST, Mr. Maulden served as a Computer Aided Design Intern for a local engineering firm where he gained valuable skills and learned the importance of the engineering design process. Mr. Maulden uses this experience and his first-hand view of its relation to FIRST Robotics as a foundation to mentor teams across the great state of Texas.
Mr. Maulden joined FIRST in Texas in 2024 to help provide the same impactful opportunities that he received through FIRST Robotics to students across the state. Currently, Mr. Maulden is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Texas A&M University.
