Lon Cherryholmes

Lon Cherryholmes has been involved with FIRST since 2016 when he inherited two robotics teams at Bryan Adams High School as an Engineering & Physics teacher. Since 2018, Lon volunteered extensively at nearly every North Texas event as either a Referee, Head Referee, Judge, Judge Advisor, FIRST Technical Advisor, or Emcee/Game Announcer. In 2019, he became one of only a handful of FIRST Certified Teacher Trainers for FIRST Tech Challenge; and has conducted Professional Development around the United States for aspiring robotics coaches & teachers. In 2021, he received the Volunteer of the Year award from FIRST in Texas at the North Regional Championship. Shortly thereafter, he took upon himself the role of coordinator with FIRST in Texas to ensure delivery of the FIRST Tech Challenge program in the greater DFW area (North).
