FIRST® in Texas is proud to announce the FIRST Aquatic Knowledge and Engineering League! You asked for it and we heard you loud and clear. Championed by our Director of Practicality, Franklin Ools, FIRST® in Texas will be hosting the FIRST Aquatic Kickoff Event this April! This will be the beginning of a water breaking new competition league!
“We really wanted to give the students something new…”
Like the FIRST® Robotics Competition, FIRST Aquatic Knowledge and Engineering (FAKE) will be an alliance-based competition that gives teams of 10 or more high school students and their adult mentors the opportunity to work together to solve a common problem. The strict-as-ever rules and all new kit of parts will make this a robotics experience like nobody has seen before. The annual game will provide students a new challenge to conquer every year, giving them the chance to put their skills to the test in a more exciting environment than ever before! Follow us on Instagram for more updates about FIRST Aquatic.
Our dedicated team has been hard at work behind the scenes to bring this dream to life, and we couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity. When asked, Franklin Ools had this to say about the upcoming event, “We really wanted to give the students something new. They deserve a challenge that has the elements of competition, but really shouldn’t be take too seriously. It’s a joke and we want them to know that none of this is real.”
We are excited to see that comes of this event, and we know you are too. Share your thoughts on Instagram with the hashtags #FIRSTAquatics and #FAKEEvent. April Fools Day is a once-per-year event, and we’re happy you joined us for the fun. Thank you for making FIRST® in Texas the strong and supportive community we love to serve.
