How Advancement to State Championship Works

Advancement to the State Championship is designed to be proportional across Texas so teams have an equal opportunity to advance, regardless of where they compete. Teams advance through the season in two steps:

Qualifier Tournaments → Regional Tournaments: one-third of teams at each qualifier advance to a Regional Tournament.
Regional Tournaments → State Championship: From each region, 15% of teams advance to the State Championship.

Important Event Details

Bring FIRST in Texas Rosters: A reminder to verify and print your roster.

Go to your Team Dashboard and verify that your coaches and participants have a signed waiver.
Send the Youth Waiver link to the families of participating students.
Under the events section, find this event. Click the “Roster” button.
Print and bring the FIRST in Texas Event Roster to check-in.

Additional Details

Bring Pit Table: Teams are asked to bring their own pit table (maximum 6 ft) and up to 2 chairs. If your team is flying in or otherwise unable to bring a table, please notify Erika Diggs, who will be the Event Director. Please note we will have a limited number of tables available.
There will be concessions at the event.

Access & Identification

Coaches will receive a lanyard with their team’s information. This will provide access to the competition space so you can be with your team during matches.
All audience members should enter through the designated Audience Entrance to avoid congestion in the team load-in/load-out area. Please see the FLL State Page for the Venue Map.

Power & Charging

Charging stations will be available in the pit area, equipped with USBC cables.
Teams may not run their own power to their pit tables.

Judging: Judging will be held in person. Please follow standard judging room etiquette, including awareness that screens or AV equipment are not guaranteed.
