Culminating Opportunities for Texas Teams This Season
We know that our FIRST® Tech Challenge teams are building amazing robots, mastering strategy, innovating with purpose, and raising the bar of excellence at every event. That dedication is visible across the state, and it is one of the many reasons we are so excited to share a major announcement for this season.
60 FIRST in Texas teams will advance beyond their Regional Championship, earning spots at the FIRST Championship or selecting a preferred FIRST Tech Challenge Premier Event. In addition to these 60 advancements, Texas teams will also have exciting pathways to the Texas State Cup and the UIL State Championship.

FIRST Championship Allocations
FIRST in Texas has received 23 advancement slots to the FIRST Championship.
- Central: 7
- North: 7
- South: 4
- West: 5
Plus, the East region has received 5 additional slots, bringing the total number of Texas FIRST Tech Challenge teams at the FIRST Championship to 28.
FIRST Tech Challenge Premier Event Allocations
In addition to Championship advancement, FIRST in Texas has also received 37 slots to Premier Events.
- Central: 11
- North: 11
- South: 7
- West: 8
More Pathways to the Top: State Cup and UIL
Beyond international advancement, Texas FIRST Tech Challenge teams also have two major in-state culminating opportunities:
• The Texas State Cup
• The UIL State Championship
Full advancement allocations for these events will be shared once final rosters are confirmed, however:
• State Cup will host 72 teams
• UIL will host 72 teams, with slots across
- 1A–4A (24 teams)
- 5A (24 teams)
- 6A (24 teams)
These events, along with FIRST Championship and FIRST Tech Challenge Premier Events, highlight the incredible range of high-impact competitive pathways available to FIRST Tech Challenge students in Texas.
