FLL Advancing Teams

Teams are advanced based on their combined performance across all three judging areas (Core Values, Innovation Project, and Robot Design) and their robot scores. 1/3 teams will advance from each qualifier. All team advancement decisions are final. 

Even award-winning teams will not advance to the next level if they are not well-rounded. It is common for a team to excel at Robot Performance, including earning a top score, yet not advance to the next level of events if they are not well-rounded. Sometimes, a team that did not win any awards may advance if they performed well across all areas.
