Is there a 12" height limit during Launch?
No, the height limit only applies during the pre-match inspection as detailed in Rule 8 of the Robot Game Rulebook (pg. 15): “During the pre-match inspection, the referee will check that all team equipment fits within the two launch areas and under a height limit of 12 in. (305 mm).”
There is no other mention of a height limit in the Robot Game Rulebook. Therefore, by the brown callout box on Page 13, IMPORTANT, "If a detail is not mentioned, it does not matter."
The robot and its attachments can be as tall as the team wants, as long as they fit entirely in the Launch Area for a valid launch.
