Robots, Teams, and Dreams Return to Houston for the Next Decade
FIRST® has officially announced a new 10-year agreement with the City of Houston, securing Houston as the host city for the FIRST World Championship, one of the largest youth robotics and STEM competitions in the world. The decision to locate the competition in Houston for the next decade reflects Houston’s growing role as a center for innovation, technology, and workforce development. The milestone agreement will be unveiled during an official signing ceremony and press conference at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The FIRST World Championship is a high-energy, global celebration of innovation, creativity, and teamwork. Each year, tens of thousands of students, educators, mentors, volunteers, and industry leaders from around the world come together for an unforgettable experience filled with student-built robots, fast-paced competitions, cheering crowds, and hands-on STEM learning.
From roaring robots and packed arenas to students proudly wearing their team colors, FIRST programs are designed to make STEM exciting and fun. Students spend months designing, building, and testing robots, then bring their ideas to life on the world stage, learning teamwork, problem solving, and leadership along the way.
FIRST in Texas is supported by valued partners including global energy company Aramco, whose investment in FIRST programs help power both State and World Championships and supports hands-on STEM education opportunities for students across Texas and beyond.
