John Matistic

FiT Fellow - Central

John Matistic is a FIRST in Texas Fellow for the Central Texas Region. He currently attends The University of
Texas at San Antonio, where he is majoring in Computer Science. John previously competed in FTC and FRC
at Cedar Park High School and is a UIL State Champion for the 2022–2023 FTC season. After joining the
program in his junior year, he helped rebuild the team’s internal structure and strengthened the foundation
that future members would build on.

Since beginning college, John has continued to stay closely involved in robotics. He actively mentors his
former team along with several FTC teams throughout the San Antonio and Austin areas, offering support in
both technical development and program organization. He also continues to practice and refine his own
engineering and programming skills while volunteering at events across Texas. As a Fellow, John brings the
same philosophy that guided him as a student and mentor: creating strong, sustainable programs and
helping students gain the confidence and skills they need to succeed in STEM.
