Orlando Montalvo

FTC Advisory Council

Orlando is a retired high school science and engineering teacher who started coaching for his son, Daniel, in the 2015-2016 Velocity Vortex season at Sharyland High School in Mission, Texas. Orlando helped grow the Sharyland High School FTC program from 2 teams to 6 teams and qualified for the World Championship four of those seasons. Sharyland also earned a UIL State 5A championship his last year as a teacher. Now that he is retired, Orlando has been very active in FiT South as an emcee, game announcer, trainer, mentor, and judge.
