Summer Cannon

Summer Cannon serves as the Finance Director for FIRST in Texas, where she oversees financial strategy, compliance, and day-to-day operations to ensure the organization runs smoothly and sustainably. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, graduating magna cum laude from Sam Houston State University. Her expertise spans budgeting, audit readiness, and developing internal financial controls that support both organizational growth and donor confidence.

In addition to her work with FIRST in Texas, Summer partners with businesses and nonprofits across Texas through her consulting practice, helping them strengthen their financial health, implement internal controls, and design systems that support long-term growth. She is known for bringing clarity to complex financial challenges and creating processes that empower leaders to make confident decisions.
